GERTRUDE TOODLES BERG – 2017

GERTRUDE (TOODLES) BERG
(GANGLOFF)
January 7, 1927 – February 26, 2017
Our mother Gertrude passed away peacefully at Riverview Health Centre surrounded by her family.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughters Cheryl (Jack) Staeger, Linda (John) Dunford, Judy (John) Cumberford, her grandchildren Christina, Tyler (Nadine) and Sarah. Missed by her cousin and lifelong friend Arnold Olsen and his family.
She was predeceased by her husband, Harold, her parents Frieda and Walter Gangloff, her siblings Elsie, Richard, and Robert.
Gertrude was born and raised in North Western, ON, where she and Harold raised their three daughters. In 1965 she moved to Richmond Hill with her family where she made many friends. She returned to Kenora in 1987, where she lived a happy and full life at Sandy Lake. She was an avid gardener and wildlife enthusiast. In 2007 at the age of 80 she moved to Winnipeg to be closer to family. Here she thrived on the culture which Winnipeg offered.
She will be remembered for her inquisitive mind and her thirst for learning. She will also be remembered for her laughter and being such a friendly person to all she met.
A memorial service will be held at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. Winnipeg MB on Thursday, March 2, 2017 at 1:00 p.m.
The family would like to thank Dr Crawford and the staff of the Palliative Care Unit at Riverview Health Centre, for all their kindness and support.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Riverview Health Centre/Palliative Care Unit at 1 Morley Ave, Winnipeg MB R3L 2P4.
