Mallais, Germaine Antoinette [Desmarais] – With profound sadness the family announces the death of Mrs Germaine Mallais at the age of 84 years. Mrs Mallais passed away at the Tri-Town Extendicare on Wednesday December 14, 2016 with her loving family by her side.
Born in Bucke Township on December 20, 1931 to the late Eugene Desmarais and to the late Irene Cloutier, Mrs Mallais was a long time North Cobalt resident and will be remembered as a loving and dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. Her family and her church meant more to her than anything else. She will be sorely missed by all those who knew her.
Predeceased by her parents; her husband Marcel Mallais (2009); her brothers Eugene and Andrew Desmarais and by her grandson Eric. Mrs Mallais will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her children: Richard and his wife Carole Mallais, Linda Mallais, Jane aand her husband John Fournier, Tracy and her husband Tom Millette, Kathy Noyes, Andrew and his wife Sheryl Mallais and Margo Mallais. Cherished grandmother of Elizabeth and Dave, Justin and Cindy, Joshua and Katie, Brandon and Renee, Raymond, Kendra and Gregg, Jason, Amy, Mathew, Andrew and Cheyanne, David and Jenny, Samantha and Mario, Kimberly, Evan and Laura; her great-grandchildren Tristan, Arianna, Kloe, Zach, Reanna, Ashlyn, Connor, Bethany, Logan, Victoria, Brandon, Jaiden, Sheldon, Bentley, Katie, Keely, Ethan, Katelyn, Logan, Lyle, Haley, Ian, Emmett and Oliver.
Also surviving are her brothers and sisters Gerard and his wife Stella Desmarais, Therese Warren, Cecile and her husband Dave Cranston, Helene Rollins, Yvette Remillard as well as many extended family members.
The Mallais Family will welcome friends at the Buffam Leveille Funeral Home on Friday December 16, 2016 from 2:00 to 4:00pm and 7:00 to 9:00pm and again on Saturday December 17 from 9:30 – 10:30am. Funeral mass will be held at St-Patrick’s Catholic Church, Cobalt, on Saturday December 17, 2016 at 11:00am. Father Wayne Mills officiating. Spring interment will take place at the North Cobalt Catholic Cemetery. Memorial contributions to the Temiskaming Hospice Palliative Care will be gratefully acknowledged.
