Obituary for Gérald Harrison
The family announces with great sorrow his passing in the presence of family and friends in Sudbury, Friday, August 25th, 2017 at the age of 75 years. Beloved husband of 53 years to Adrienne (Doiron) Harrison of Val Caron. Son of the late Antoine and late Mildred (Bernier) Harrison. Loving father of Pierre Harrison (Susanne Leffler) of Wanup, Suzanne Harrison of Val Caron, Lorianne Sepp (Jeff) of Mount Albert. Cherished “Pépère” of Maya and Ava Sepp and Tom Harrison as well as other young friends who called him “Pépère” or “Oncle”. Dear brother-in-law of Edith Gionet (Wilfred), Edouard Doiron, Romeo Doiron, Irene Doiron (Pierre Leyraud), Albertine Duguay (Pierre) and Aldoria Doiron (Lynda). Predeceased by sisters-in-law Léona Doiron and Jeannine Gionet (Valmond). He will also be lovingly remembered by his godchildren Maurice Doiron and Nicole Glassford and many cousins. Gérald was manager in different departments at A&P on Pine Street in Sudbury and finally Produce Manager at the A&P Store in Espanola until his retirement in 2000. He continued working part time at Desjardins’ Food Basics in Hanmer before retiring a second time in 2012. Gérald was an avid fisherman, enjoyed camping, gardening and hunting but he was happiest when surrounded by his family. In keeping with Gérald’s wishes, there will be no visitation. A memorial mass will be held at Ste-Marguerite D’Youville Church in Val Thérèse on Saturday, September 30th, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. Cremation to take place at the Cooperative Crematorium. Donations to the Northern Cancer Foundation directed to research can be made by cheque or online at www.cooperativefuneralhome.ca
