Quiet, faithful, relentless, steadfast, joyful, these words from a friend describe him well.
George passed into the presence of his heavenly father on Monday, November 6, 2017 at the age of 81. Beloved husband of Joyce Fitchett, cherished father of Del Fitchett (Diana), Jodee Balisky (James), and Kendal Fitchett (Lindsay) and fondly remembered by his 10 grandchildren.
“I do not count my life dear to myself, so that I may finish my race with joy, and the ministry which I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify to the grace of God”. This was a quote that George kept on the top of his desk where he could see it every day, a quote he lived by day by day as best he could. His life goal was simply (but not a simple task) to bring glory to God in all he did – whether in life or in death. “Jesus be stronger than the will of my heart.” was another quote found on the top of his desk.
George gave his life to leading others to God whether through his gentle love and forgiveness, his kind words, his service and help, his coming alongside, his leading of fun times with kids at camp. George found so many ways to gently and lovingly minister to so many people. We will miss him so very much but rejoice in the fact that he is where he longed to be, with his beloved savior.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Rock Nest Ranch Bible Camp in Houston, B.C. November 18th at 11 am with a luncheon following
