SMELTZER, George….
At Victoria Hospital, London, on Tuesday, October 10, 2017, George Leonard Smeltzer, surrounded by his loving family, passed peacefully in his 83rd year. Beloved husband of the late Patricia (Dowswell) Smeltzer (2014). Loving father of Laurie Patterson (James) of London, Michael Smeltzer (Angela) of Estevan, SK and Peter Smeltzer (Catherine) of London. Dear grandfather of Trevor Patterson of Vancouver, B.C. Isaac Smeltzer (Melissa) of Denver, CO, Megan Schick (Mason) of Weyburn, SK, Yakira Mukendi (Didi) of Kuwait, Larissa Smeltzer of Hamilton, Samantha, Lily and Danielle of London. Cherished great grandfather of Madisyn Joy and Emily Patricia Grace Schick. Dear brother of Betty Joiner (Leo), Doris Balfour (Bob), Lois Smeltzer and survived by his sister-in-law Wilma Smeltzer all of St. Thomas and brother-in-law Daniel Dowswell of Kalamazoo, MI. Also loved by several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his brothers and sisters Ruth White, Mary Lunn, Hank Smeltzer, Douglas Smeltzer and Bonnie-Lynn Smeltzer. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the Doctors and Staff of both Parkwood and Victoria Hospitals. Friends will be received by the family at the A. Millard George Funeral Home, 60 Ridout Street South, London on Friday, October 13, 2017 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm and on Saturday, October 14, 2017 from 9:30-10:30 am. The funeral service will take place in the funeral home chapel at 10:30 am. Interment in Mount Pleasant Cemetery, London. As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to the London Regional Cancer Program, 747 Base Line Road East, London, ON N6C 2R6 or the Heart & Stroke Foundation, 180-633 Colborne Street, London ON N6B 2V3.
