Absent from the body – present with the Lord. On Saturday, October 7, 2017, at Bluewater Health, George Edward Howard passed away at the age of 88. Beloved husband of the late Dorothy (2006). Loving father of Karen (Alan) Henkelman of Huntsville, Keith (Sue) Howard of Lacombe, AB, and Cheryl (Luciano) Carlin of Taber, AB. Cherished grandfather of Bryan (Erika) Henkelman of Huntsville, Craig (Katherine) Henkelman of Port Perry, Anne (Zach) Frantz of Blackfalds, AB, Stephen Howard of Vernon, BC, Paul (Shannon) Carlin of Bonnyville, AB, James (Kat) Carlin of Calgary, AB, and Anna (Don) Janzen of Regina, SK, and treasured great-grandfather of 15. Dear brother-in-law of Betty (Howard) Treleaven, Verna (Ron) Millson and Phyllis Harris. Remembered by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by sisters Marjorie and Norma and brother Les. Family and friends will be received at SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 1576 London Line, Sarnia, on Tuesday, October 17, 2017 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held at PEOPLES CHURCH, 3888 London Line, Wyoming, on Wednesday, October 18, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow in Resurrection Cemetery. Sympathy may be expressed through donations to Bibles For Missions (BFM) Foundation or Gospel for Asia (cheques only at the funeral home please).
Visitation
Family and friends will be received at Smith Funeral Home on Tuesday, October 17, 2017 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.
Service
A funeral service will be held at Peoples Church, Wyoming, on Wednesday, October 18, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow in Resurrection Cemetery.
