Obituary for George Roberts
ROBERTS, George A. – Passed away at London Health Sciences Centre – Victoria Hospital on Saturday November 4, 2017, George Albert Roberts from “North of Embro” in his 81st year. Beloved husband of Lorna Ann (nee Thompson) Roberts for over 55 years. Dear father of Dean (Mary Mitchell) Roberts, Faye (Peter Atkins) Roberts and Owen Roberts. Loved grandfather of Evan, Graham, Stephen, Claire, Neil, Noah and Calla. He will be sadly missed by his nieces; Karen Dalgleish and her son Alex, Elizabeth (Grant) Barrowman and their children; Maddie, Sophia and Louis. Predeceased by his sister Joyce Anderson and by his brother Robert Roberts. George had established Ruchurst Farms Ltd. and was a dedicated farmer all his life. He served actively as a Director with the O.C.F.A. (Oxford County Federation of Agriculture) and was a recipient of the Order of O.A.C. (Ontario Agriculture College) at the University of Guelph. Friends are invited to join the family at the Brock and Visser Funeral Home, 845 Devonshire Ave., Woodstock, 519-539-0004 on Wednesday November 8, 2017 from 6-8 pm, where the funeral service will be held in the chapel on Thursday in the chapel at 11:00 am with Richard Hryniw officiating.
