Nov 16- 2017
Gary David William Sothern
of Palmerston passed away surrounded by the love of his family at Guelph General Hospital on Thursday, November 16, 2017 in his 73rd year. Beloved husband and best friend of Sharon (Elliott) Sothern for 51 years. Cherished father of Tim and Teresa Sothern of Waterloo and Tracy and Rob McLennan of Guelph. He was our hero. Much loved grandfather of Rachel, Joel and Lindsay Sothern and Madeline and Natalie McLennan. He always made them laugh. Brother of Nancy and Bill Mulvey of Belmore. Brother-in-law of Brian and Jane Elliott of Waterloo, Ron and Elaine Elliott of Palmerston, Bonnie and Gary Cain of Listowel and Rick and Kelly Elliott of Pike Lake. Fondly remembered by his nieces, nephews and many, many friends. Predeceased by his parents William and Jean Sothern and by his grandson Adam William Sothern in infancy.
Gary was a life long resident of Palmerston and was the owner of Capri Hairstyling for over 53 years before retiring in December 2016. He was an active member of the community through his involvement with St.Paul’s Anglican Church and the Palmerston Lions Club. His quick wit and his kind, generous nature made him a friend to all who knew him.
The family will receive friends at the Heritage Funeral Home, Palmerston on Saturday, November 18, 2017 from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 6 to 8 p.m. and on Sunday, November 19, 2017 from 1 to 4 p.m. Private family service on Monday, November 20, 2017 followed by interment in Fordwich Cemetery.
As expressions of sympathy donations to Palmerston Lions Club or St. Paul’s Anglican Church would be appreciated by the family.

Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Gary Sothern – Nov 16- 2017.source
