Gary Archibald Morris
Gary A. Morris, 68, of Dieppe,
passed away at The Moncton Hospital on Saturday, May 20, 2017. Born in
Springhill, NS, he was the son of the late John and Agnes (MacDonald)
Morris.
Gary was a retired Correctional Officer at the
Dorchester Penitentiary with 28 years’ service, an employee
of Enterprise Rent-a-Car from 2008 – 2016, former Owner / Operator of
Hucks Electric from 2001 -2008 and a volunteer with the Codiac RCMP
from 1994 – 1999. An avid golfer, Gary enjoyed all sports, especially
hockey and softball. He was a member and past President (1982-1984) of
the Blue Knights and past President of the Kendra Court Condominium
Corporation from 1991 –
2001.
Gary will be sadly missed by his partner of 32 years,
Florence Auffrey of Dieppe; son, Ryan Morris of Alberton, PEI;
stepchildren, Pierre Auffrey, Suzanne Auffrey (Mike) and Marc Auffrey;
grandchildren, Ava Morris and Melanie and Alex Auffrey; brothers,
Richard Morris (Flora) of East Linden, NS and John Morris (Gladys) of
Salisbury; brothers and sisters of Florence; several nieces, nephews
and extended family members.
Visitation at Fergusons Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain
Road, Moncton (858-1995) on Wednesday from 7:00 to 9:00 pm. A Service
to celebrate and honour Gary’s life will be held at
Fergusons Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, May 25, 2017 at 1:00 pm
with The Reverend Chris VanBuskirk officiating. Reception in the
Funeral Home Reception Centre following the service. Interment will be
in Monument Hill Cemetery, Springhill,
NS.
In memory of Gary, donations to the Canadian Cancer
