Garnet Langille – 2017

Langille; Garnet Austin
Washago – On July 9, 2017 Garnet Langille, 68 lost his third battle with cancer at home with his loving wife Linda by his side. He leaves his wife Linda (Rueffer) Langille; her son Matthew and wife Laural and grandchildren Abbie, Paige and Evan. His children, Kerry Dennie and husband Peter and grandchildren Alyssa and Shaun; Shane Langille and wife Noelle and grandchildren Matthew and Haley; along with Brother-in-law Ernie Brock and Sister-in-law Clare and husband Jack Walker and many close friends. Special thanks to the Washago Lions and lifelong friend Sheila for all of their help and support during Garnet’s last days with us. Born in Kentville, Nova Scotia, the son of Arthur and Beatrice Langille, survived by his father’s wife Leah Langille and family. Garnet was an active member of the community and was the President of the Washago chapter of the Lions club, a board member for the Washago Community centre and a volunteer at Barrie Out of the Cold. Garnet loved spending time outdoors and could often been seen kayaking on the Green river with his granddaughter Abbie, snowmobiling and ATVing throughout Muskoka with Matthew or walking their dog, Kiak with his wife. A celebration service will be held on Saturday July 22, 2017 at 11:00am at the Washago Lions Hall in downtown Washago. Garnet would prefer donations to the Washago Lions club in lieu of flowers in support of one of their many great community projects; fund raising to the end.
