The family of Fred Marshall are saddened to announce his
death on November 4, 2017. Loving husband of Deborah
Kuehnbaum of Guelph. Dear father of Richard, wife Leigh, of
Arizona and grandfather of Sean. He is survived by his
sister Vera Hill and sister-in-law Shirley Marshall, both of England,
and his brothers-in-law Bill Kuehnbaum (Linda) of Burlington and
George Kuehnbaum (Maureen Holland) of Combermere. He was
precedeased by his parents Charles and Annie (Ratcliffe) Marshall, and
siblings Charles, Roland and Elsie.
Born in Oldham, Lancs, UK in 1933, he immigrated to Canada in
1957. He spent his working career in various capacities in
the property and casualty insurance industry in Sudbury and Toronto,
retiring as the owner of Nickel Belt Insurance in Chelmsford (Greater
Sudbury). In his day, he was an avid golfer, skier and
tennis player. For a number of years, he travelled around
North America in his own small airplane. In retirement, he
and Deborah spent their winters in Litchfield Park, AZ, where he
leaves behind many dear friends.
At Fred’s request, there will be no visitation or
funeral. Cremation has taken place. Memorial
donations to the WLU Alumni Choir Scholarship Fund at Laurier
University, 75 University Ave. West, Waterloo, ON N2L 3C5 or
to the charity of your choice would be appreciated by the
family.
