Fred Jones – 2017

I wish I could say that he is racing
through the swamp, in his ’64
Corvette at Pocono Raceway or
knocking over the time clocks at a
Corvette slalom. Hold on to those
memories. My darling husband, best
friend and soul mate, Fred Jones,
left us on October 12, 2017 to take
his place in heaven’s garden. He is
probably giving instructions as to
how to tidy things up back here and
debating the responses. He leaves
behind a loving family, brother John,
nephews Jason and Jeff and their
families. Elaine, Shauna and all the
Bradley Bunch and a wealth of
friends, all too numerous to mention.
Father of Michael and Susan, Fred
was a social guy who loved to chat
and enjoyed the many activities he
joined. His true passion (besides his
wife, Rosemary, 37 wonderful years
together) was restoring old cars.
From Corvettes to ’31 Fords to
Mustangs, the next generation of
Joneses carries this on. He was
president of the Corvette Club of
Ontario and the Canadian Council of
Corvette Clubs. He was also a
founding member of the Caledon
Cruisers. In business he was a
successful salesman, manager and
Vice President, and loved his
diversified career in the graphic arts
and printing industry. A celebration
of Fred’s life will be held at the
Village by the Arboretum in Guelph.
Loving thanks to everyone at
Hospice Wellington who cared for
all of us during this difficult time.
You deserve to rest now my love.
As expressions of sympathy, donations
to Hospice Wellington would be
appreciated by the family.
