Frank Stoll - January 7

Frank Stoll – January 7, 1919 – December 14, 2016

In Loving Memory Of
Frank Stoll
It is with great sadness, but with relief that we announce the passing of our father, grandfather, great-grandfather and great great-grandfather Frank Stoll. He passed peacefully at the age of 97 years, almost 98, after a long battle of poor health on Wednesday, December 14, 2016.
Dad was born January 7, 1919 to George and Theresa Stoll in Lake Saskatoon, AB. In 1940 he married Irene Bradley and they farmed at Pipestone Creek, AB. Joan was born in 1942 and Gordon (Bud) in 1944.
Dad was a busy community member and always was involved in many organizations. He was a member of the Wembley Curling Club, the Seed Clearing Plant, a 4-H Leader and a ball player. Many weekends were spent playing ball.
In 1973 Mom and Dad sold the farm and they moved to Grande Prairie. Dad soon was employed by the county as an Agricultural Fieldsman. He spent many years and on retirement he was very active with the Pioneer Museum, Wembley Masons, and he helped out with The Book Along the Wapiti. He was always helping others.
Dad was a most meticulous man from planting seeds in the garden, to organizing his shop, to fixing anything, even if it wasn’t broken.
He loved to build things for his friends and family. Dad was a handy man of every sort and we all went to him at one time or another for some of his “Mr. Fix-It” help. There just wasn’t anything he could not tackle.
Dad also leaves us with his honesty, generosity, thoughtfulness for others, common sense, and a wonderful sense of humor. He seldom asked for help for himself and he was such an independent and proud man. The main thing he disliked about getting old was losing his strength and having to depend on others.
Frank was predeceased by his parents George and Theresa, wife Irene in 2005, son Gordon (Bud) in 1970, sister Marjorie (Paul Schmidt), brother John and brother in-law Duncan Bain.
Dad leaves many to mourn him: sister Aleda Bain of Kelowna BC, sister in-law Mabel Tissington of Grande Prairie, AB, daughter Joan (Charlie) White, grandchildren: Steven and Lorraine White, Denise (Darrell) Hudak and Janeen (Laurie) Jones, great-grandchildren: Bradley, Ashley, and Lisa White, Colin, and Neil (Kolby) Hudak, Brittany (Niphon), Bailee (Shayne) Nicole and Denton Jones; great great-grandson Ethan Hudak; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and many great friends; his very special friend Herb Pfau and family who faithfully visited and spent many countless hours visiting and listening to his stories and sharing Kit-Kat chocolate bars. We all have appreciated his friendship.
At Frank’s request, a Graveside Memorial Interment will be held on Saturday, May 20, 2017 in Lake Saskatoon. If you knew Frank please take a moment from your day to remember him and celebrate the good times you shared. We will miss him dearly and he will be in our hearts forever.
A special thanks to the Staff of the Grande Prairie Care Center, QEII Hospital, The Gardens, and Dr. Duplesies for all their care and compassion shown to our Dad over the years. God bless you all and Merry Christmas.
