Frank Glogowski
Sydney Mines
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Frank Glogowski, a loving husband, brother, father and grandfather, after a brief illness.
Born on January 27, 1945 in Sydney Mines, he passed away at the Northside General Hospital in North Sydney, Nova Scotia, with his family and friends by his side in the evening of Wednesday, January 25, 2017, just 2 days shy of his 72nd birthday. Frank moved to Ottawa in 1967, and worked at the Ottawa Civic Hospital for 35 years, until he retired and came back to Cape Breton in 2001.
Left to mourn is his loving wife Rita (MacLean) Holic, his children; Brenda and Frankie (Lisa), and their mom Louise Glogowski (Marinelli), his brother John Glogowski, sisters Sheila Glogowski (Danny) and Brenda Bailey (Harold). Also left to mourn are Lisa (Sheila), Danny (Laurie) and Johnny (Tracy) grandchildren Brandon, Tyler, Jade, Hayley, Grace, Jack, Jordan, Kendra, Lucas, Owen and Holly, and his extended family; Margie (Fred), Ron (Larraine), Joe, Dena, George (Denise), Basil (Theresa), and Miriam, and many nieces and nephews. Fondly remembered by the Marinelli family and close friends/family in Ottawa; Judy, Aurele, Steven and Debbie Blais, and many more friends.
Frank was known by all as a collector of everything Elvis, and he fulfilled his lifelong dream, this past year, when he and Rita toured Graceland. One of his many joys was spending time at the campground with his many friends.
He was predeceased by his parents Frank and Aggie (Norman) Glogowski, sisters Mae Cousins, Jean Finney and Patricia (Sister) Bailey, and brother Lenny Glogowski.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Frank’s memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, or a charity of your choice.
