It is with heavy hearts Al and Beth Jerome announce the sudden passing of a great friend and neighbor, Frank “Glenn” Elliott. Born in Fort Worth, Texas, son of the late Frank and Elizabeth (Keller) Elliott, November 23, 1941 and passed away at his residence in Stratford on November 23, 2017. Glenn was a highly esteemed member of the Stratford Festival Theater Props department for 36 seasons. Glenn served in the U.S. Air Force before finding his true calling as a visual artist. Graduating with a BFA from Sam Houston State University, he worked at the Alley Theatre in Houston before coming north in 1969 to build props at the Festival. In 1988, he was promoted to Senior Props Builder, the position he held until his retirement in 2007. Glenn’s work for the stage inspired him to employ a variety of techniques and media in his own personal artwork, which he exhibited in such venues as Agora Gallery, Village Studios, Gallery Stratford and Gallery 96, among others. Glenn had a very large circle of friends; he was a member of the Piano Club, French Club, Member of the YMCA; he enjoyed his Yoga and Tai Chi classes; he loved gardening and most recently returned from a wonderful trip to Costa Rica. Glenn was blessed with so many wonderful friends, too many of them to mention. Glenn was a master creator of “Everything and Nothing”. Glenn had an extraordinary talent and our city is left the poorer for his passing. Besides his parents, Glenn was predeceased by a brother Myles Elliott. In keeping with Glenn’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A celebration of Glenn’s life will take place on Thursday, November 30, 2017, starting at 7:00 p.m. at The Dominion House, 3 Guelph Street, Stratford.
