Obituary for Françoise (Frankie) Bain (née Bourassa)
Bain, Françoise (Frankie) 1920-2017
Passed away peacefully with her three precious children by her side, Friday, August 18 2017 at the age of 97 years. Daughter of the late Henri Bourassa and of the late Evangéline (née Vannier) Bourassa. Loving wife of the late Rowan Bain who was a distinguished flying officer with the RCAF and a veteran of the Second World War. Dear mother of Gail Strachan (late Peter) of Vancouver, Peter Bain (Donna) of Cache Bay and Judy Legault (Zane) of Field. Frankie will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her six grandchildren Graeme, Karen, Michael, Douglas, Heather and Andrew, as well as by her six great grandchildren Rowan, Eryn, Logan, Makayla, Morgan and Ben. Also survived by her sister Rachel Jaski (late Sam) and by her brother Yves (Janine). Predeceased by her brothers René (Margaret of Toronto), Grégoire, Hervé, Rod, Jean Marie and Raymond. Frankie retired after a successful career as owner of Bain Insurance Brokers in Cache Bay. She was very active in her community as the former secretary for the Sturgeon Falls Public School Board, a member of the Red Cross, a founding member and secretary of the Club 50 of Cache Bay as well as serving on the Cache Bay Library Board. The Bain family will receive friends at the Théoret Bourgeois Funeral Home, Sturgeon Falls, Tuesday, August 22, 2017 after 10 am. The funeral service will follow at 11:30 at the funeral home. Because she loved her flowers and tended to her garden with great love and attention, flowers are welcomed and donations to the charity of your choice are also appreciated.
