1930-2017
It is with great sadness that
the family of the late Florence Vickers of Happy Valley-Goose Bay,
originally from Witless By, NL, announce her passing on Saturday, June
24, 2017, at the Labrador Grenfell Health Centre in Happy Valley-Goose
Bay, NL at the age of 86 years.
Leaving
to mourn Regina Vickers, Gary (Judy) Vickers, Diane (Gerry) Tobin,
Brenda (George) Way, Sharon (Leo) Coady, and Janice (Greg) Saunders;
11 grandchildren, Wendy and David Vickers; Diana, Gerriane, and
Shannon Tobin; Robert Way, Vicki, Todd, and Amanda Coady; Stephen and
Janessa Saunders; 13 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Sister Regina
Vickers of St. John’s NL and brother-in-law, Terrance
O’Reilly of St. John’s, as well as a large circle
of nieces, nephews and
friends.
Florence was predeceased by her husband, Patrick; her
parents Christopher and Mary White of Witless Bay, NL; her five
brothers; Michael, Harold, Philip, Vincent and Francis;
sisters-in-law, Dolores O’Reilly, Carmelita White and Beulah
White.
Special thanks are extended to the doctors and nurses
at the Labrador Grenfell Health Centre that have been outstanding with
their care and compassion shown during this very difficult
time.
Friends may visit Fillatre’s Funeral Home
in Happy Valley-Goose Bay on Monday, June 26 from 7 pm-9pm and June 27
from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm. Funeral service will be
held at Our Lady Queen of Peace Church on Wednesday, June 28, 2017 at
2 pm. Interment will follow at
the Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers,
donations may be made to Our Lady Queen of Peace Church in memory of
Florence Vickers.
