The family announces with great sorrow his passing in Sudbury, Thursday, June 8, 2017 at the age of 95 years. Husband of the late Lucille (née Pitre) Giroux. Son of the late Louis and the late Josephine (née Leblanc) Giroux-Ménard. Loving father of Lucien (Rita), André (Denise), Carmen Remillard, Marcel (late Diane), Gérard (Diane), Micheline Roy (Jean-Noel), Nicole St-Georges (Maurice), Diane Davis (Bernard) and Gilles. Predeceased by 3 baby boys. Dear brother of Dora Favaro (late Livio), René (Joan) and Reina Labelle (late Lionel). Predeceased by his siblings Marguerite Soullière (late Russell), Aurore Frappier (late Paul-Émile), Cécile Régimbal (late Camille), Rodolphe (late Éliane), Ernest (late Jeannette) and Dolorès Fredette (late Roméo). Cherished grandfather of 26, great-grandfather of 26 and great-great-grandfather of 9. Sadly missed by many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Fernand will be remembered for his strong work ethic and his passion for hunting and fishing with his boys. The family will receive relatives and friends at the COOPERATIVE FUNERAL HOME, 222 Lasalle Blvd, Sudbury, Tuesday, June 13, 2017 from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9:30 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at St-Jean-de-Brébeuf Church, Sudbury. Donations to the Maison McCulloch Hospice, Diabetes Association or the Heart and Stroke Foundation can be made by cheque or online at www.cooperativefuneralhome.ca.
