Evelyn May Lorenz, caring wife, sister, mother, grandmother, and friend, died peacefully at the age of 72. She was born on February 5, 1945 at the Edmonton General and left us from the same hospital/hospice on December 4, 2017. A deep devotion to her family and her unwavering faith in God brought her great peace and supported her through her final days. She is lovingly remembered by her husband Ed, and four children, Jeff (Lori), Charlene (Sean), Krysty (Ryan) and Jamie (Asya), beloved grandchildren, Hudson, Hailey, Hayden, Reese; Elliott, Lauren; Riley, Avery; and Elena, brothers Don and Jim (Joanne), and nieces Jessica and Jasmine.
Above all, Evelyn was deeply devoted to her faith, family, and friends. She will be remembered for her love of spending time at the cabin, crossword puzzles, knitting for children in need, reading mystery novels, but above all supporting and nurturing her family. She enjoyed travelling, cooking and entertaining, and Evelyn’s sincere and gracious nature instantly put others at ease. She adored spending time reading with her grandchildren and the legacy of her kind spirit will be cherished in their memory.
The family wishes to thank all the extended family and friends for their kindness and compassion shown to Evelyn and our family. Her warm presence on earth will be deeply missed by those who loved her.
A Prayer Vigil for Evelyn will be on Sunday, December 10 at 7:00 p.m. and the Funeral Mass will be celebrated by Reverend Jim Corrigan on Monday, December 11 at 1:30 p.m. Both will be held at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, 13 Brower Drive, Sherwood Park.
In memory of Evelyn donations may be made to Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church.
