HOMINICK,
Evelyn
Evelyn Ena Hominick, nee MacLeod (b. August 24, 1921) passed
away peacefully at Cape Breton Regional Hospital on December 12,
2017.
Evelyn was a member of Westminster Bible Presbyterian Church.
She held offices in the former Grace Haven Hospital Auxiliary, Ann
Martin Hospital Auxiliary and the Cove Guest Home Auxiliary. She was
active in the former Cape Breton Community Concert Association and
Kiwanis Music Festival. She was a Sergeant in the Voluntary Aid
Detachment of the Canadian Red Cross during World War II. Evelyn was
also an avid skater.
Predeceased by husband, John (62 yrs.) and infant son;
sisters, Tena Funge and Kaye Sheppard.
Survived by sons, Brian (Jane), Eric (Rose) and Ian (Jeanne).
Also survived by grandchildren, Laura, Ryan, Brandon and Shaela;
great-grandchild, Claire; special nieces, Lorraine Brewer (Tom) and
Carol Pierce; special nephew, Hector Murphy (Donna).
Visitation will take place at Sydney Memorial Chapel on
Saturday, December 16 from 12-2 p.m., followed by a service in the
chapel at 2 p.m., with Pastor Kevin Richardson officiating. Interment
in Forest Haven Memorial Gardens at a later date.
Family flowers only by request. Donations or memorials to
charity of choice.
