Evelyn Estella Helfer, passed away peacefully at Points West Living in Stettler, Alberta on November 29, 2017 at 92 years of age. Estella was born to Lucy and George Snell on September 12, 1925 in Cereal, Alberta. She married Lawrence Theodore Helfer on June 15, 1945 and moved to farm in the Donalda area shortly thereafter.
Estella was pre-deceased by her parents, sister and brother-in-law Georgina (Donald) Terrell of Seattle, Washington, and her husband Lawrence Helfer on January 17, 2000. She is survived by her son Dennis ( Elaine) of Donalda and her daughter Lois (Wayne) Uniat of Scottsdale, Arizona, as well as her granddaughters: Tammy (Mardy) Kulak of Stony Plain, Trena (Danny) Thomas of Donalda, Tricia Helfer (Jonathon Marshall) of Los Angeles, California and Tara (Kelvin) Iwerinwa of Surrey, B.C., as well as her five wonderful great grandsons: Austin, Adam, Chase, Rayden and Kenan. She is also survived by her brothers, Milton (Maureen) Snell and Vernon (Irene) Snell and sister Alberta (Ed) McKinstry, all of Oyen, Alberta, numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends.
Our mother and grandmother was the special foundation to our lives. We will love and remember her always.
Per Estella’s request there will be no funeral. Donations in her name can be made to STARS or a charity of your choice.
