Evelyn Dorothy Yatsko – 2017

Obituary for Evelyn Yatsko
Evelyn, Dorothy, Yatsko
October 18, 1939 – May 14, 2017
On Sunday May 14, Evelyn passed away peacefully at Concordia Hospital with family by her side.
Leaving to cherish her memory are her children, Nancy (Rene), Patricia (Tom), her grandchildren, Cienna (Derek), Kevin (Jessica), Tony, Desiree (Mitch) and her great-grandchildren, Dominic, Chloe, Brynn and Theo, her sister Shirley (Clare), nieces, nephews, family and friends. She was predeceased by her father John, mother Georgina and brother Tom.
Evelyn was born in Vivian, Mb and lived most of her life in Transcona. She babysat many children over the years, worked at Radisson School at the lunch program for several years. She loved to crochet and made many afghans and scarves for the Transcona food bank, donating them and never asking for anything in return.
In this fast paced world she never learned to drive a car, either took bus or walked. Never used a cell phone or computer. For those who knew Evelyn she was set in her ways and she wouldn’t and couldn’t be changed.
She will be missed by all who knew her and never be forgotten.
The family wishes to thank the staff at Concordia Hospital for the care and compassion that was provided to her and the family.
By her request there will be no funeral service. Cremation has taken place.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Transcona Food Bank in honor of her name.
