Obituary of Ethel Bowyer
Bowyer: Ethel (Bernice) passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Monday, November 27, 2017 at Middlesex Terrace, Delaware, Ontario in her 102nd year. Bernice was born on May 10, 1916 to the late James & Clara (Marcus) Lather near Bothwell, Ontario. She was predeceased by brothers Arthur (Florence), Stanley (Dorothy), Bob (Della), Vern and sister Leila (Cecil) Staples. She was the last surviving member of her family, and a past worthy matron of the Bothwell Chapter Order of the Eastern Star. Bernice was predeceased by her husband of 40 years, Allan Shaw Dickson (1975). They farmed near Muirkirk and raised their daughters Darlene Coatsworth (late Bob) of Mt. Brydges, Glenda Eberle (late Jim) of Blenheim and their son Larry (Tina) Dickson of Aylmer. Bernice was a wonderful kind grandmother who cherished her granddaughters, grandsons, and 6 great-grandchildren. She enjoyed music and travelling. She is survived by her sister-in-law Helen (Bowyer) Wickens of Sarnia and several nieces and nephews. Bernice was predeceased by her second husband Harry Brewer (1984) and by her third husband Milton Bowyer (2012). The family will receive visitors at the Badder & Robinson Funeral Home, 211 Elm Street, Bothwell on Thursday, November 30, 2017 from 12:30 p.m. until the Funeral Service at 1:30 p.m. Interment to follow at McLean Cemetery. The family would like to take this opportunity to express gratitude to all the caring staff at Middlesex Terrace, who assisted Bernice daily for the past five years. Everyone helped her feel at home. “Mom’s Angels” In lieu of flowers donations by cheque to the Resident Council (Music Program) at Middlesex Terrace.
