Ehtel was born Mar 14, 1922, in Battleford, SK, passed away peacefully on Dec 12, 2017, in Victoria, BC with her daughter Saundra at her side. Predeceased by her husband Frank, son Clarence, and grandson Cliff. Ethel will be missed by her daughters Sharon (Gord), Marilyn (James), Saundra (Steve), and the daughter of her heart Geraldine (Rod), six grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, three sisters Kay, Rita, and Theresa, and numerous family members and friends. She will be remembered for her love of gambling—whether at the casino or at home with her family and grandchildren. Her sense of humor, and style. Her loving and outgoing personality, she was always there for people in need.
Many thanks to the Staff of Baptist Housing who helped care for Ethel for the last 15 years of her life, and especially to The Heights 4th Floor Eas staff for all their love and care to Ethel and our family that final week.
Mass will be held on Friday, Dec 29 at 1:30 pm at St Andrews Cathedral, 740 View St. Interment to follow at Hatley Memorial Gardens. A Celebration of her Life to follow at the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 91 at 761 Station Ave from 3:30 – 6:30 pm in the hall. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Alzheimer Society of BC. www.alzheimer.ca/en/bc
