Service Details
Eilean passed away peacefully in her sleep at the Red Deer Regional Hospital on October 7, 2017 at the age of 91 years. She was the fifth youngest of a family of twelve born to William James “Jack” and Jenny McGillivray in Piapot, Saskatchewan on October 2, 1926.
Eilean is survived by as son Ken (Bonnie) Waldern of Ponoka; three daughters Gloria Hurst of Innisfail, Darlene (Trevor) Saunders of Stettler, and Sherry (Gavin) Prowse of Red Deer; daughter-in-law Joanne (Gauke) DeVries of Red Deer; twelve grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; sister-in-law Verna McGillivray of Tompkins, Saskatchewan; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Cleave Waldern; sons Harvey and Rosco Waldern; six brothers and five sisters.
A Service of Remembrance will be held at the Ponoka United Church at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, October 20, 2017. Memorial donations are gratefully accepted to any charity of your choice.
