Obituary of Ernest Williams
Williams, Ernest “Ernie” of Petrolia and formerly of Galt/Preston, passed away suddenly at Bluewater Health, Sarnia on Monday, March 13, 2017 in his 78th year. Ernie will be extremely missed by his wife Helen (Mater). He is survived by his children Jaymie Brown, Don Brown (Carol), Karen Hammond (Dave), Brodie Williams (Monika), Michelle Bidner (Todd) and Kevin Dobbyn (Amy). Loving grandfather to Steven Brown, Jamie & Nathan Hammond, Sarah Gehue, Sophie & Sadie Williams, Dylan Carter, Colton Bidner, Alexa & Aidan Dobbyn. Cherished great grandfather to Kincade & Dominic Brown, Chloee, Markus and Meekah. Survived by his sister, Mary Baker (Gordon, deceased), many nieces, nephews and friends. At Ernie’s request, a private family service will be held in Dresden. Cremation has already taken place. A Celebration of Ernie’s life will be held at the Petrolia Lions Hall, 451 Huggard St., Petrolia, on Saturday, March 18th, 2017 from 1:00 – 4:00 PM (come and share your funny stories and memories of Ernie). Ernie was an employee with the Town of Petrolia and Hull Bus Lines. He was a dedicated member to the Petrolia Lions Club for 19 years where he held many roles. He was the recipient of the Helen Kellar Fellowship and Lion of the Year.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Ernie’s memory can be made to the Petrolia Lions Building Fund (c/o Petrolia Lions Club, 451 Huggard St., Petrolia, On. N0N 1R0). Online condolences and donations may be left at www.badderfuneralhome.com. Arrangements entrusted to Badder Funeral Homes, Dresden.
