WEBB, Ernest “Grant” – passed away peacefully at home in Petawawa, on Thursday, March 23, 2017 after a long fight with cancer at the age of 81 years.
Grant Webb of Petawawa, was born on April 23rd, 1935 in Sweetsville, Quebec to William Ernest and Augusta May (Berry). Grant served 35 years with the Canadian Forces and for several years served on the Petawawa Legion Executive. Grant is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, Frances (Pounden) whom he married August 29, 1935. Devoted father to daughter Connie Webb (Herb Koch) and sons, Darron & Gary (Frances); will be dearly missed by 4 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, nieces & nephews. He is predeceased by his brother Lionel and will be sorely missed by his sister Lorna Bataille of Toms River, New Jersey.
Visitation will be held at the Malcolm, Deavitt & Binhammer Funeral Home, 141 Renfrew St., Pembroke on Sunday, April 2nd, from 6-8:00 p.m. A Service will be held at the Petawawa Legion on Monday, April 3rd, 2017 at 11:30 a.m. Following the service, the family invite you to stay for fellowship and refreshments in celebration of Grant’s life. In lieu of flowers, as an expression of sympathy, donations to the Queensway Carleton Hospital Foundation (memo: Cancer Centre) or the Ottawa Hospital Foundation (memo: Irving Greenberg Family Cancer Centre) would be appreciated.
