WILLIAMS, Ensley WAYDE “Wade”:
59, of East Preston, passed away suddenly at home on Friday, November 3, 2017, surrounded by family. Born May 2, 1958, in East Preston, NS to the late Elizabeth Williams and William B Thomas Jr.
He was survived by his wife of 35 years, Charlotte (Borden), son; Christopher, East Preston; daughters; Courtney, East Preston and Caitlyn (Joseph Cooper) Halifax. His Grandchildren, his pride and joy, Aniya and Miguel, Keesha & Mattea. Godchildren Isaiah Taylor, Ashley Williams, Earon Bundy and Alex Slawter.
Siblings: Genevieve Howe, George (Angela) Williams, Clinton (Charlene) Thomas, Gerald Thomas, Pamela Thomas all of East Preston. Thornton (Daisy) Williams, Linda Thomas, Wendall Williams, Jerry(Carolyn) Taylor all of Dartmouth, Dianne Williams Cherry Brook, Spencer Williams Ontario, Burton (Helen) Thomas Montreal and Anthony (Patsy) Thomas of New Glasgow. Last surviving Aunt Mary Colley and Uncle Clifford Thomas, both of East Preston and several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents,and parents-in-law Bernard and Marjorie (Ash) Borden, Wade was predeceased by sisters; Denise Ewing, Shelley Thomas and a sister in infancy, brothers-in-law; Allan Howe, Ancel Thomas, James McNamara and Anthony Borden.
He was a member of the East Preston United Baptist Church, East Preston Men’s Brotherhood, Revival choir, East Preston Rate Payers. Wade was passionate about his community he was actively involved and a strong advocate for many community causes.
He was a former employee of Brinks Security and was a long-serving employee for over 40 years of The Atlantic Superstore (formerly Capitol Store), in the role of General Merchandising Manager for 9 of those years. His interests were hockey, ball hockey, baseball, football, and golf. He was a diehard HABS fan.
Wade loved and enjoyed family, he was fondly remembered for his infectious smile and his big laugh.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Atlantic Funeral Home.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, November 8, 2017 from 7-9 pm, in the Atlantic Funeral Home, 771 Main Street Dartmouth. A Celebration of Life will be held 1 pm, Thursday, November 9, 2017 from East Preston United Baptist Church, 206 Upper Partridge River Road, East Preston. Rev. Wayne Desmond officiating, assisted by Lic. Debbie Simmonds. Interment in the East Preston Baptist Church cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Heart and Stroke Foundation or Canadian Diabetic Association.
