It is with great sadness that the family of Elsie Elizabeth Worobetz announces her passing on November 9, 2017 in Fairview Alberta, at the age of 79 years. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 59 years Melvin, and her Children: Lasha (David) Sebo, Pamela Worobetz, and Jason (Bonnie) Worobetz. She adored her grandchildren: Karlee (Brett Dillman), Erin, Sarah, Zoe, Damian, Hayden and her great grandchildren: Eli Jones, and Huxley.
Born September 22, 1938, Elsie was raised in Friedenstal and homesteaded in the Lubeck/ Hines Creek Area.
Elsie had a passion for the outdoors, music, history, and art. She was an active community member who loved to cook and entertain.
Predeceased by her son Melvin (Boyce) (d.1972), her great nephew Jason Giesbrecht (d.2009), her parents Ida (d.2003) and Philip (d.2000), her siblings Francis (Hardy)(d.1973), Philip James (d.2003), Eugene (d.2010), and Ashley (d.2013).
Also left to mourn are her siblings Rudy (Pauline) Heck, Betty Ann (Ben) Schneider, Cynthia (Larry) Guay, and numerous nieces and nephews.
The Funeral Service will take place at St. Thomas More Catholic church in Fairview on Thursday November 16, 2017 at 11:00am, with committal at the Immaculate Mary Hines Creek Cemetery. Luncheon to follow at the Hines Creek Dave Shaw Memorial Hall.
In lieu of flowers donations in Elsie’s honour can be made to STARS ambulance.
