Mary Ellen Henderson of Norton, NB. passed away at the Sussex
Health Centre on Saturday, October 21, 2017 after a period of failing
health. Born on October 25, 1918, in Springfield, NB. she was the
daughter of the late George and Maymie (Green)
Henderson.
Ellen is survived by her sister Lila Brown of Sussex and her
brother Cecil Henderson of Hampton, NB. as well as, several nieces and
nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers Milton, Earl, and Everett
Henderson and her sisters Viola Elms, Bertie Boyd and Bernice
MacKinnon.
Ellen was a member of the United Baptist Church and was very
active in her community. She was a member of the Quilters Guild, and
was often called upon for her cooking, knitting and sewing. In 2016
she received recognition form the Province of New Brunswick for having
served with the Women’s Institute for 75 years. She will be
missed by everyone who knew her.
She is resting at Sherwood’s Funeral Home and Life
Tribute Centre (506-839-2156), 18
Scovil Road, Norton, NB, with visitation on Tuesday, October 24, 2017,
from 1 to 3 pm. Funeral service will follow in Sherwood’s
Chapel at 3:00 pm. Interment will take place in Riverbank
Cemetery.
Memorial donations in Memory of Ellen may be made to the
memorial of the donor’s choice. Personal condolences to the
