Elizabeth Mattice – 2017

Mattice: Elizabeth Margaret Mattice (nee: Cameron), age 88, of Swift Current, SK passed away January 11, 2017 at City Hospital in Saskatoon. The Funeral Service was held at 2:00 pm Tuesday, January 17, 2017 from First United Church with Reverend Annette Taylor officiating. The ushers were Joanne Bueckert and Cliff Stevenson. The pallbearers were her grandsons, Trent Green, Derek Wolfe, Tyler Wolfe, Andy Pavlovic, Matt Pavlovic and Liam Mattice. The interment service took place at Hillcrest Cemetery. Elizabeth is survived by her children, daughter; Pat (Alan) Wolfe and their sons Derek (Marissa) and Tyler; daughter Lori Pavlovic and her children Andy, Meagan and Matt; son, Rodney (Kellie) and his children, Liam, Maggie and Kieran; son Shane; grandchildren; Bobbi Jo Anderson, Trent (Colleen) Green and Tanya Fowler; great grandchildren Cody Anderson, Joshua Anderson, Elizabeth Anderson, Jaiden Pavlovic, Dolan Wolfe, and Emmersyn Wolfe; sister Dot Baum; brothers David (Judy), Bill and Bob (Bonnie). She was predeceased by her husband Len Mattice; daughter Bonnie Green; son-in-law Alois Pavlovic and Fred Green; her parents Hugh and Violet; sisters Francis Deigl, Annabelle Yurchyshn and Jennie Jansen; brothers Les Cameron and Alex Cameron. Elizabeth was born on March 14, 1928 in the Neidpath District. She attended Weibe School. She was married to Len Mattice in May of 1950 in Swift Current. She worked as kitchen manager at the Ag and Ex from 1971 until 1992 and also at the curling club from 1975 until 1992. Elizabeth was one of the founding members of Grace United Church in Swift Current. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, sewing and caring for her children and grandchildren. Family was the most important part of her life. It is noted that she went to Cypress Hills Park for 66 consecutive years. Her door was always open and coffee pot was always on. Elizabeth was a kind, giving person who was willing to help everyone. She will be sadly missed but fondly remembered by her family and friends. In her memory, memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society. Warren’s Funeral Home were entrusted with the arrangements.
