It is with great sadness that to
announce the passing of Elizabeth (Wiseman Paul) Brewer on Friday,
November 24, 2017. She was
86.
Born in
Fredericton, she was the daughter of the late George and Matilda
(Sacobie) Wiseman. Elizabeth was one of the oldest member who grew up
on the “old Reserve” at St. Mary’s First
Nation.
Mom (Darlin,
Grammy Brewer) will be sadly missed by her children, Victoria
(Jonathan) of Arizona USA, Janice (Bill) William (Katie) and Rok, all
of Fredericton. 23 grandchildren, 48 great grandchildren, 9
great-great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews as well as
cherished friends.
In addition to
her parents, she was predeceased by her first husband Eugene Paul and
beloved husband Donald Brewer, daughters Eunice Lauzon, Beverly
Polchies, sons Phillip, Eric, Timothy Paul, grandsons Clinton Polchies
and Harley Saunders, brothers Ronald, Tommy and Murray, sisters
Eunice, Edith, Helena and
Grace.
Elizabeth
graduated from Nursing School in 1971 and was employed at the Victoria
General Hospital. She later retired and went on to the NBCC Craft
College and pursued her love for basket making and painting. She then
attended the Nova Scotia Teachers College and graduated in 1990 with
an Early Childhood Education degree. She went on to work with the St.
Mary’s Kindergarten and Headstart Program for a number of
years before retiring.
Darlin Grammy
Brewer enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, especially
at the “campground”. She loved to play darts, play
cards, listen to music and paint. Darlin will be missed by many family
and friends and will be forever in our
hearts.
Resting at
Bishop’s Funeral Home, 540 Woodstock Road, Fredericton on
Tuesday November 28th, 2017 from 2-4 PM
& 7-9PM. A funeral service will take place at St.
Anthony’s Roman Catholic Church on Wednesday, November
29th, 2017 at 11AM with Father Monte Peters
officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Following
the burial, a reception will take place at the St. Mary’s
Entertainment Center. For those who
wish, donations to a charity of the donor’s choice would be
appreciated by the family.
