Elizabeth “Betty” Denty
Denty (Murphy), Elizabeth “Betty” Jane – age 80 of Eastern Passage. It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of devoted wife and loving mother, Betty on November 20, 2017 in Veterans Memorial Hospital, QE II. Born in Halifax she was the daughter of the late Jack Murphy and Ruby Denty (LaPierre). She was an avid Bingo player for many years. She was known for her Betty Boop collectibles and fancy Christmas sweaters. Over the last 20 years Betty and Howard enjoyed numerous trips to Las Vegas with Ruby and Gary and the last trip with all their girls. The gift she left for all of us was her talent of taking photos and videos to enjoy for generations to come. The most important thing in her life was her family. She was the best wife, mother and grandmother you could ever have. Betty is survived by her husband of 62 years, Howard; daughters, Ruby Janes (Gary), Linda Baird (Les), Leona Davidson, Maryann Aucoin (David), Christina Campbell (John); sister, Diana Boutilier (Vince); brother, Charles Denty; 13 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her special grandson, Bradley Baird. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held from 7-9pm on Friday, November 24 with a memorial service 11am Saturday, November 25 followed by a reception all in Atlantic Funeral Home 771 Main Street, Dartmouth. Interment in Dartmouth Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Alzheimer’s Society of Nova Scotia.
