Dean, Elizabeth June “Betty” (nee Brown) … Passed
away peacefully at the Dr. Bob Kemp Hospice, Hamilton, on Friday
November 25, 2016 in her 91st year. Betty was predeceased by her
beloved husband Roy Jarvis Dean (2004). She is the cherished mother
of Roy (Linda), Brian, Kathleen Davidson, Steve (Donna) and Scott
(Rene). Nana will be forever remembered by her grandchildren,
great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Elizabeth will
also be sadly missed by her sister Barbara Hewitt (Brian) and her
brother James “Jim” Brown (Georgina), as well as her
numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. She was
predeceased parents Elizabeth and Albert Brown, her sister May
MacIsaac (Jack) and brothers Henry “Bud” Brown (Shirley)
and William “Bill” Brown (Sylvia). Elizabeth enjoyed a
career with the Anglican Church of Canada at the Mission to Seafarers
in Hamilton. She was also a longtime member of St. John the
Evangelist Church in Hamilton, where she attended the Wednesday
morning service. At Betty’s request, cremation has taken place.
A Memorial Service will be held at St. John the Evangelist Anglican
Church, 320 Charlton Ave. W., Hamilton, on Wednesday December 7, 2016
at 11a.m. A private interment will be held at Bayview Cemetery,
Burlington, at a later date. Flowers are graciously declined; if so
desired, donations made to the Dr. Bob Kemp Hospice or St. John the
Evangelist Church would be greatly appreciated by the family. Words
alone cannot express our deepest and warmest gratitude to the staff
and volunteers of the Dr. Bob Kemp Hospice for their compassion and
support during Betty’s final months. Allowing us to peacefully
spend our final days with our mom/Nana, you brought us relief and
strength through your committed and compassionate care of Betty and
our family.
