Elizabeth Betty Crosbie Leigh 2017

2017
Obituary Overview
Leigh; Elizabeth “Betty” Crosbie
It is with much regret
that the family of Elizabeth (Betty) Leigh announces her passing on. Monday December 11, 2017 at the Telfer Place Lodge
in Paris.
Betty was the beloved
wife, best friend, golf partner of the late Bill (2003) – the sharer of their
wonderful, adventurous life together. Loving Mother of Billy and his wife Mary Ann
and beloved Grandma of Chelsea.
Betty is also survived
by nephews Colin Hillcoat (Waterloo) and Graham Hillcoat (Kitchener).
Born in Renfrew,
Scotland, Betty was a Girl Guide Leader and Leader of the Sunday school. She taught in Renfrew and Inchinnan
Scotland. Betty also taught in Cambridge
at Hillcrest, Hespeler Public, Preston Public and Parkway Schools.
A lover of and player
of many sports, playing field hockey, tennis and a lifelong addict of
golf. She was a knowledgeable spectator
of tennis, especially when her son Billy, a tennis pro was playing.
In later life, she
enjoyed putting her thoughts (silly notions she called them) into writing. She loved to line dance and to knit her many
dolls and lots of scarves. Driving
friends to appointments and lunches was a pleasure and something she always
looked forward to.
Betty’s wishes are that
there should be no funeral, no visitation and no celebration of her life. To her friends – Thank you for being her
friend and to her fellow golfers- please hit a long, straight drive in her
memory. I f so desired memorial
donations in Betty’s memory to the War Amps or Cambridge Memorial Hospital
would be appreciated.
Funeral arrangements
entrusted to the Memory Gardens Funeral Home 2723 Victoria St. N. Breslau
(Kitchener) 519 904 0400.
