Bathurst – It is with great sadness
that we the family announce the passing of Mrs. Elizabeth
“Betty” Barker, of Dumaresq St., Bathurst, which occurred
suddenly at her residence on Sunday May 7,
2017.
Born in Bathurst, she was the daughter
of the late John and Margaret (Goneau)
Relph.
She worked as a florist at the former
Oliver’s Gardens Flower Shop in Bathurst for most of her
life.
She was pre-deceased by her husband,
William Barker and is survived by three children: Cindy
Barker (Mike Leatherland) and Lisa Barker (Chris Petts) both of
London, ON and Bill Barker (Tali) of Darlings Island, NB.
Two grandchildren: Jonathan and
Michael.
Two brothers: Jack Relph of
North Tetagouche and Donnie Relph (Nancy) of Bathurst. Three
sisters: Joan Relph, Bonnie Relph (John Duguay) and Shirley
Relph all of Bathurst. Several nieces and
nephews.
She was pre-deceased by a sister,
Gertie.
There will be no visitation at the
Funeral Home. Funeral Service
will be held on Wednesday May 10, 2017, at 2 p.m. from Saint George
Anglican Church, King Ave., Bathurst. Donations in memory of
Betty may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Bathurst SPCA,
Saint George’s Anglican Church or a favorite
charity. Arrangements are in the care of
Elhatton’s Funeral Home (www.elhatton.com),
Bathurst.
