On March 26, 2017, Elaine Dochuk of Edmonton passed away peacefully at home at the age of 63 years after a courageous battle with cancer.
Elaine will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Daniel; daughters, Allison (Thomas) Beck and Kristen; and by her cherished grandson, Simon. She is also survived by her father, John Sosniuk; siblings, Marie (Ray) Shapka, Nick (Renee) Sosniuk and Tania (Hardy) Schmidtke; nieces, Tania, Larissa, Morgan and Amy; and nephews, Devon and Levi. She will be dearly missed by her extended family and many friends and will also be fondly remembered by the many colleagues with whom she worked over her 41 year teaching career. Predeceased by her mother, Alice Sosniuk; and infant brother, Stephen.
We would like to thank all of our family and friends for their support and prayers. Our heartfelt thanks for the compassionate care given by Dr. Allison Theman, the staff at the Cross Cancer Institute, the Lois Hole Hospital for Women, and AHS Home Care.
Prayer Service Thursday, March 30 at 7:00 p.m. at St. Anthony’s Ukrainian Orthodox Church, 6103 – 172 Street NW, Edmonton.
Funeral Rite Friday, March 31 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Anthony’s Ukrainian Orthodox Church. Very Reverend Father Patrick E. Yamniuk officiating with interment in Rosehill Cemetery.
