Eileen Poechman, of Hanover, passed away peacefully at Hanover and District Hospital on Sunday, January 01, 2017. She was 96.
Born on February 7, 1920 to the late Eugene and MaryAnne (nee Foster) Kuntz. Eileen worked along side her husband farming and raising their children. She was a member of the CWL for over 40 years.
Survived by children Joe (Barb) Poechman of R#4 Hanover, Paul (Kathy) Poechman of Edmonton, Alberta, James (Kathy) Poechman of Mildmay, Vincent (Wilma) Poechman of Hanover, Eugenia (Francis) Zettler of Walkerton, Margaret (Lester) Noll of Kitchener, Marlene (Edward) Massel of Guelph, Mary (Mark) Brothen of Regina, Saskatchewan and Jane (Brian) Haack of R#3 Hanover. Loved and cherished by 22 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren. She will be remembered by her brother Eugene Kuntz of Hanover, sister Martina Gutcher of Walkerton and sisters-in-law Audrey Kuntz, Hilda Kuntz and Agnes Kuntz. Predeceased by her husband Basil Poechman, brothers Alfred, Lorne, Wilfred, Francis and Clements and sisters Cecilia, Loretta, Arillia, Gertrude and Eugenia.
Visitation will be held at Mighton Funeral Home, Hanover, on Wednesday 2-3:30 pm and 7-9 pm with C.W.L Prayers and Vigil Rites at 3:30 pm. A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, January 05, 2017 at 10:30 am, at Holy Family Church, Hanover. Interment in Holy Family Cemetery, Hanover.
Memorial donations to the Hanover and District Hospital Foundation or the Holy Family Parish Building Fund would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
