Edward Worona – March 11, 1933 – March 14, 2017

March 11, 1933 ~ March 14, 2017
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of a Husband, Dad, Grandpa, Papa and Friend; Ed. Surrounded by the love of his family, Ed passed away on March 14 at Beausejour Hospital.
He will be dearly missed by his loving wife of 58 years, Elsie; his children Debbie, Randy (Shannon) and Karen (Trevor); his grandchildren Adam (Andrea), Chelsey, Anthony (Allison), Alia (Bryce), Deidter, Kaitlyn and Breanna; great-granddaughters Avery and Claire; his brothers Walter (Audrey), Cazmir (Evelyn), Clarence; his sister Lillian (Kurt), and many family members and friends.
He was predeceased by his parents Andrew and Mary; stepfather Conrad; son-in-law Bill and brother Victor.
Dad was born on the farm in Lowland, MB in 1933. As a young man, he worked with CN from 1952-1961. In 1956, he met the love of his life, Elsie, and they were married in 1958. In 1961, they moved to Lac du Bonnet to start a business with his three brothers. Together they ran Worona Brothers, a successful Ford dealership. He retired in 1991 and he and Mom spent the next 26 years babysitting their grandchildren, travelling and spending many hours working in their yard. He enjoyed living in the country and his Riverland neighborhood. He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren and they hosted many family dinners. He will be remembered for his quick wit and funny one-liners.
A tribute to Ed will be held on Sunday, March 19, 2017, at 2:00 pm, at the Lac du Bonnet Community Centre. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in his memory to Pinawa Cancer Care.
You were a loving Husband and Dad, who will be dearly missed.
