KENDRICK, Edna Vivian – 97, Barrington formerly of Shag Harbour, passed away in Bay Side Home, Barrington, on Friday, November 24, 2017. Edna Vivian (Shand) Kendrick was born September 30, 1920. She lived and loved her life in Shag Harbour until ill health forced her into a home. She was a member of the Band of Hope, Shag Harbour Baptist Church and Women’s Institute. She married Henry Kendrick in 1939 and together ran a general store and later a fish processing plant and saw mill. After her husband’s death in 1959 she continued to operate the fish processing plant and saw mill being the only female fish dealer in the Province. Mom was a great cook especially brown bread and pies. She also was a knitter and did crochet work but her claim to fame was her quilting and each member of her family received a specialty quilt. Edna (Super Senior) was an avid golfer and a life member of the Shelburne County Golf Club, now River Hills. Left to mourn are her children, Delma Kendrick, Brockville Ont.; Priscilla (Doug) Gordon, Port Elgin Ont.; David (Geraldine) Kendrick, Woods Harbour; grandchildren, Bobbi Jo (Ward), Billy (Allison), Beth (Dave), Brant (Becci), David; great-grandchildren, Mathew, Jared, Jaden, Tanner, Cameron, Ashton, Hunter, Austin; great-great grandchildren, Owen, and Dixon. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Henry; her parents, Ashton and Vivian (Greenwood); daughters, Dawn Marie in infancy, and Peggy (Lloyd) Brown. Edna’s family would like to thank the care providers and staff at Bayside for their unconditional love and care. Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of H. M. Huskilson’s Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Barrington. There will be a memorial service held, Sunday, December 10, at 2 p.m. in the H. M. Huskilson’s Memorial Chapel, Barrington, with Pastor Don Sheel officiating. It has been requested there be family flowers only; in lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to VON Tri County, Bay Side Home, Barrington or a charity of your choice.
