Peacefully surrounded by family at the Chatham-Kent Hospice, on Saturday April 8, 2017, Edna Agnes Charbonneau at the age of 94 years. Born in St. Joachim on October 27, 1922 to the late Frank and Irene (Reaume) Trepanier. Married in 1944 to the late Edward Charbonneau (1999), they raised 13 children; Lana (late Jerome) Caron, late Shirley (George) Kennedy, Marie (Mark) Lauermeier, Rita (Charles) Moore, Al (Pat), Jeanne, Clayton (Lynda), Norman (Nora), Joe (Debbie), James (Jeanette), Walter (Shelley), Bernard (Sandie), and Fr. Maurice. Proud grandmother of 27 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren. Loving sister to the late Robert (late Audrey), late Jane Trepanier, Eva (late Ken) Berthiaume, late Paul (Colleen), Lucille (Stan) McGuire, Charlie (Helen), Julia (late Charlie) McCann, George (Angela), Claire (late Tim) Renaud, and Helen (Winston) Sysiuk. Sister-in-law to the late Cal and Kate Charbonneau and Loretta (late Jack) Jennings.
Edna enjoyed her family and friends. She was an avid quilter, member of St. Joseph’s Church and the Catholic Women’s League (city).
Friends and relatives may visit at the Funeral Home, 156 William St. S. Chatham (519-352-5120) on Tuesday April 11, 2017 from 2 – 4 and 7 – 9 pm, where Catholic Women’s League Prayers and Vigil Prayers will be offered at 3 pm.
Visitation will also take place at St. Joseph’s Church 180 Wellington St. W. from 10 until 11 am Wednesday.
A Funeral Mass will then be celebrated on Wednesday April 12, 2017 at 11:00 AM in St. Joseph’s Church.
Burial will be in St. Anthony’s Cemetery.
