In her 91st year, “Edie” passed away suddenly on Tuesday,
June 6th to be with the love of her life, with her family by her side.
She is predeceased by Manny, her devoted husband of 73 years.
Edith was the loving mother of John Horst (Jean), Sandy Taylor (Steve)
and Lori Hughes.
Cherished Grandma/Cubby of Kim Vanderburgt (Rick), Jay Horst (Heidi),
Chris Taylor (Krista), Jennifer Sobczuk (Greg) and Heather Baxter
(Pasa).
Edie will be sadly missed by her only surviving sibling, Mickie Dyer.
She also leaves behind 14 Great-grandchildren, 4 Great
great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents Goldie and Adela Ferguson;
brother’s Harry (Maude), and Archie (Aileen); sisters Jean Kinsman
(Claude), Helen Maker (Chuck), Freda Miller (John) and Velma Elliott
(John); grandsons Joey, Frederick and Johnathan Horst; great-grandson
Adam Taylor and great-great-grandson William Nadon.
Edie’s family will receive relatives and friends on Friday, June
9, 2017 from 7 to 9 pm at the Corbett Funeral Home, 95 Dundas Street,
Cambridge. The funeral service will take place Saturday, June 10,
2017 at 10 am at the funeral home.
Donations to the Cambridge Food Bank would be appreciated by the
family.
A very special thank-you to Dr. and Mrs. Achiymichuk for their kind
and loving care of our parents; Cambridge Hospital Emergency and ICU
staff for their compassionate care during Mom’s brief illness; and to
Edie’s wonderful neigbours who have always lent a helping hand to Mom
and Dad.
