The death occurred in the
Veteran’s Wing of Harbour View Hospital, Sydney Mines on
Sunday, December 24, 2017, of Edgar Hillier of Sydney, at the age of
82 years.
He was the son of the late Edgar Emmanuel
and Jessie (Cake) Hillier.
Edgar is survived by numerous nieces and
nephews.
He was predeceased by his son, Hobart in
infancy. The last surviving member of his immediate family, Edgar was
predeceased by his sisters, Emma, Mary, Dorothy, Elsie and Holly and
brothers, Ron, John, Henry and Wilfred.
Edgar was a member of the Royal Canadian
Legion, Branch 138, Ashby, the Sydney #84 Masonic Lodge and the Cape
Breton Shrine Club, to which he held a special
passion.
Cremation, under the direction of Sydney
Memorial Chapel, has taken place. A graveside service and interment
will take place at a later date.
Thanks to Dr. Abel, nurses and staff of 4A
CBRH and Harbour View Veterans Wing for their care and
attention.
