Earl Reaney
March 19, 1937 – December 18, 2017
With both love and sadness, the family of the late Earl Reaney announce the passing of their beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather on December 18, 2017, at the age of 80 years. Earl was born March 19, 1937, to Milford and Gladys (Weise) Reaney in Ceylon, SK. In 1959, Earl married Eunice Leslie and they were blessed with seven children. Earl shared his lifelong passion through his love of sports, auction sales, and as a collector of many antiques, stamps, coins and old, unique currency.
Throughout his years, Earl worked with CN Rail Bridge Gang and demonstrated his entrepreneurial skills as he owned and operated many successful businesses including: Ceylon Locker Plant from 1961-1973, E.R. Construction, E.R. Cars, as well as the North-West Hotel in Ceylon, SK and the Lunn Hotel in Canora, SK from 1985-2013. Above all, Earl lived his life abundantly committed to his wife, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He shared with them his work-ethic, legacy, dedication, and love for family and friends and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. Earl is predeceased by his parents, Milford and Gladys, and his sister, Verna Adams. He is survived by his wife, Eunice of Canora, SK; children: Randy Reaney of Carvel, AB, Darcy (Heather) Reaney of Ceylon, SK, and Kirby Reaney, Lorri Reaney, Sherlene (Brad) Dul, Sherri Jo (Darrell) Kobelka, and Tanya (Bill) Slowski all of Canora, SK; grandchildren: Lane (Lauren), Ryder, Les (Dee), Brad (Kristy), CJ (Kelsey), Dustin, Danika (Kyle), Tyson, Nicole (Devon), Laura (Scott), Dwight (Rachelle), Brandi, Stacey (Dieter), Kara (Clayton), Charla, Tamara, Tina (Bill), Holly (DJ), and Hayden; and his twelve great-grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. A Graveside Celebration of Earl’s Life will be held at Ceylon Trail Cemetery, Ceylon, SK, in the spring of 2018. Those wishing to make expressions of sympathy may make donations to the Alzheimer Society of Saskatchewan, as tokens of remembrance, in memory of Earl Reaney.
