Born in
Campbellton, NB Irene was the youngest child of Alice & John
Anningson’s 13 children, who lived to adulthood. She
graduated from Bathurst High School & was a long time resident
of (Ketepec) Saint John. Prior to her marriage to Blair she worked at
NBTel & MRAs. Irene was a wonderful hostess
& loved entertaining. Many festive dinners & pot luck
meals were held in the Ketepec House & yard. She enjoyed
camping & the family camp at Queens Lake.
Mourning her
loss are daughters Brenda (Dale) & Nancy; grandchildren
Heather, Kevin, Ryan & Robyn; great grandchildren Tristan,
Lily & Jaxson; sisters Connie & Marjorie;
sister-in-law Ruth & the McKinney family; & niece Rae
& Anningson family. Irene was predeceased by her
beloved husband Blair in March 2013, by infant granddaughter Lana
(Oct. 13, 1984), and by 10 siblings – Lester, Laura, Kay, Florence,
Ann, Vivian, Harold, Howard (Jack), Grant, and Clifton.
Since
January 2015, after a debilitating stroke, Irene was lovingly cared
for by her extended family at Kennebec Manor. Blair
& Irene were devoted members of St. Anne’s Church
for many years & more recently of Church of the Resurrection,
Grand Bay.
A
celebration of Irene’s life will be held at
Brenan’s Bay View Funeral Home, 1461 Manawagonish
Road, Saint John (634-7425), on Saturday November
18th. Anglican service will begin at 11 AM, officiant Rev.
Michael Caines, followed by a luncheon reception & family
interment service at Hillcrest Cemetery in Clarendon. No
flowers at request of family. You are encouraged to make a donation to
the charity of your choice, or do a good deed, in memory of Irene.
