Marie Ann Dwyer (Joyce) age 65, of Westville passed away peacefully on January 22, 2017 surrounded by family.
Born in New Glasgow, Marie was a daughter of Pauline (Poitevin) Joyce and the late Bryce Joyce.
Marie lived her life thoughtfully, always thinking of others. She was very wise, loving and tactful. She had a profound faith and lived her life accordingly. Her gentleness is what attracted people to her. She would always give wise counsel when asked and never passed judgement.
Marie worked as a talented tailor, and enjoyed cards, reading, movies, baking and especially travelling, in her spare time. She will be missed by her family and many friends.
She is survived by her children, Laura (Dale) Facey, Woodburn, and Michael (Cheryl) Megeney, Sarnia, ON; her grandchildren Hannah, Matthew and Liam; her sisters Paula (Bruce) Rodgers, and Beth (Robert) Windsor, and brothers Lee (Marilyn), Stephen, Bruce, David and Paul; many nieces and nephews.
She is predeceased by her husband Doug, son Matthew (Megeney) and brother Willard.
Her Funeral to be held at 2:00 pm Thursday at Holy Name Church in Westville with Father Peter MacDonald officiating. Interment will be in Mt. William Cemetery. There will be no visitations. Donations in Marie’s memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Nova Scotia SPCA. Arrangements are under the direction of Eagles Funeral Home, Westville.
