Obituary of Douglas Davis
DAVIS, DOUGLAS: At Kilean Lodge on Friday, December 15, 2017, Douglas Elroy Davis passed away surrounded by his loving family at the age of 87. Beloved husband of Jean (nee Stearn) for 65 years. Loving father of Denise Davis-Lawson (Gord), Nadine Davis, Daryle Davis (Deby), and Janine Kerec (Rudy). Cherished grandfather of Stephanie Opdam (Eddie), Billy Zajczenko, Sabrina Davis, Blake VanBeek, Kyle VanBeek, Brett VanBeek (Alyssa), Amanda Davis, Kayla Davis-Lawson, Desiree Lalonde (Kyle), Nicole Davis, Curtis Davis, Noah Kerec, and Joshua Kerec, and great-grandfather of Brooke, Nathaniel, Tyler, Emma, Oakley, Rhys, Alexis, Acadia, Jordan, and Brayden. Dear brother of Louise Stayzer (Bruce), Edward Davis (the late Marilyn), Alex Davis, and the late Laurie Davis (Cheryl). Predeceased by his parents Clifford and Milly Davis. Visitation at Merritt Funeral Home, 287 Station Street, Smithville on Wednesday, December 20 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, December 21 at 1 p.m. Special thanks to the nurses and staff of Kilean Lodge and to Dr. Matt Noble Wohlgemut for their kindness and care. If desired, memorial donations to Heart & Stroke or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.
