Robitaille, Douglas Gilbert “Doug”, passed away in Midland on January 18, 2017 at the age of 84. Beloved husband of Gladys (nee Russell). Cherished father of Russell Robitaille (Wendy) and Mary Ellen Fraser (Rick). Loving Papa of Julie-Ann Fera (Trevor). Dear brother of Peggy Thompson, Margie McElroy (John), Stan Robitaille (Liette), Mike Robitaille (Isabelle) and the late Colonel Frank Robitaille, Monsignor Kenneth Robitaille, J.B. Robitaille (survived by Lisa) and Ronald Robitaille. Doug will be missed by his extended family, friends and grand-dogs Charlie, Snoopy, Tessa and Lexi. Special thanks to the nursing staff of 2 North for the exceptional care they provided, and to the PSW’s who provided great care to Doug at home. Visitation will be held at Nicholls Funeral Home on Sunday, January 22nd from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Prayer service at 2:30. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at St. Margaret’s Church on Monday, January 23rd at 10 a.m. Spring interment in St. Margaret’s Cemetery. If desired, memorial donations to the Georgian Bay General Hospital Foundation or Hospice Huronia would be appreciated.
