Obituary for Douglas Archie McLennan
McLennan, Archie Douglas Harold – The family announce the death of Douglas McLennan at the age of 91 years. Doug passed away at Water’s Edge Care Centre in North Bay on Friday, December 22, 2017.
Doug was born at Orillia, April 26, 1926 to the late Archie McLellan and the late Jessie Ireland. He had lived in New Liskeard most of his life where he worked as a Real Estate Agent for many years. Doug had been an avid skier in earlier years as well as an avid golfer. Doug was Past President of the Haileybury Golf Club and he enjoyed traveling coast to coast in Canada.
Predeceased by his parents, his first wife Patricia Eplett and his son John McLennan. He is survived by his devoted wife Brenda [Guyppy]. Sadly missed by his children: Deborah [Richard] Smith of St Andrews, New Brunswick, Michael McLennan of Ottawa, Lynda McLennan of Sudbury and James [Tave] McLennan of Middleton, Nova Scotia. Fondly remembered by his grandchildren: Sean, Kevin, Kerry and Nora; great-grandchildren: Jackson, Avery and Finn; and by his sister Pearl Balfe of North Bay. Also survived by his step-children: Terry [Chris] Wojick of North Bay, Scott [Trista] Wojick of Dallas, Texas and Wendy [Dave] Bishop of Sudbury; step-grandchildren: Jessica, Johnny, Nick, Brandon, Abi, Kinley, Tyler and Caleb.
In keeping with his wishes, cremation will take place at Lakeview Crematorium. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions to the charity of your choice will be gratefully acknowledged. Condolences, contributions and memorial candles may be left at www.buffamleveille.com.
