Douglas A. Wood
Douglas A. Wood, 82, of Moncton passed away peacefully at The
Moncton Hospital on Sunday, October 22, 2017. Born in Bathurst, he was
the son of the late Andrew and Lucy (Ellis) Wood.
Doug was a retired Technician from C.N.T. with over thirty
years’ experience. He was a member of St. Andrew’s
Presbyterian Church, member and long time secretary of Lodge St.
Andrew #16, F. & A.M. Rexton, NB and member of the Scottish
Rite and the Royal Order of Scotland. He enjoyed woodworking, hunting,
fishing, birdwatching and music.
Douglas will be sadly missed by his daughter, Heather Wood
(Jim LeBlanc) of Riverview; sons, Craig Wood of Ottawa, ON and Stephen
Wood (Judy) of Moncton; grandchildren, Megan, Kelsey, Kyle and
Malcolm; sister, Judy Wood (Daryl) of Moncton; nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife,
Florence Mary (MacDonald) Wood (2015); sisters, Muriel Roberts, Thelma
Girvan, Olive Daigle, Hazel Babin and Doris Wood and brother, Wesley
Wood.
Visitation at Fergusons Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Road,
Moncton (858-1995) on Wednesday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 pm.
Lodge St. Andrew #16, F. & A.M. service at 6:45 at the Funeral
Home. A Service to celebrate and honour the life of Douglas will be
held at Fergusons Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, October 26, 2017 at
10:30 am, with Rev. Charles Cook officiating. Reception in the Funeral
Home Reception Centre following the service. Interment, Knox
Presbyterian Cemetery, Kouchibouguac.
In memory of Douglas, donations to the Knox Presbyterian
Church Cemetery or a memorial of the donor’s choice would be
